Berlin Chocolate Festival: the Big Event Entirely Dedicated to Chocolate returns to Berlin!
Discover the world of chocolate through themed street food, pastry shops, chocolatiers, and workshops for both adults and children.

Pizza with chocolate dough, arrosticini, arancini and tacos with chocolate sauce, churros, alfajores, brigadeiros, crepes, éclairs, cocoa tagliatelle, locally made pralines and chocolate bars, and unique creations from Berlin’s finest pastry chefs… This and much more awaits visitors at the Berlin Chocolate Festival, taking place on the 15th and 16th of March 2025 at Arena Market (Eichenstraße 4a). After last year’s huge success (over 8,500 visitors!), the festival is back for its second edition.
Outdoors, there will be a street food area featuring a wide variety of culinary delights from around the world. Indoors, a dedicated market area will host pastry chefs, producers, and companies offering direct sales. Among the over 35 exhibitors, visitors will be able to enjoy classic chocolate specialties as well as unique and creative recipes specially crafted for the event. And, of course, you’ll find hot chocolate and a selection of coffee drinks with a chocolate twist!
The atmosphere will be further enriched by chocolate-themed masterclasses and workshops. Since the event is also designed for families, there will be a dedicated children's area with special workshops for the little ones.
The entry fee is €4 (but it’s free for children up to 16 years old) and includes a welcome chocolate amaretto from our partner Viani. Tickets are already on sale on Eventbrite.

Not only food: workshops and demonstrations for adults and children
The Berlin Chocolate Festival also aims to provide information, and thanks to a rich program of talks, workshops, and demonstrations led by both Berlin-based and international pastry chefs, visitors will have the chance to truly deepen their knowledge of chocolate.
For example, there will be a masterclass and an interactive workshop on creating your own chocolate bar, led by Camila Marianna Oliveira. Meanwhile, all children will have the opportunity to participate in a free workshop by Elena Zhuravleva of LETA Patisserie. Scroll down for the full program.

Chocolate consumption in Germany and sustainability
Chocolate arrived in Germany in the 17th century, thanks to imports from the Spanish and Portuguese colonies in the Americas. Initially, cocoa was a luxury reserved for the nobility and bourgeoisie, but over time it became an everyday pleasure and a fundamental part of German culinary culture. In fact, Germany has one of the highest per capita chocolate consumption rates in Europe, with around 12 kg per person per year.
In 2023, Germany exported 221,000 tons of chocolate and chocolate bars to non-EU countries, confirming its position as the leading European exporter in this sector. The most popular chocolate flavor among Germans is milk chocolate, preferred by about 55% of consumers. Dark chocolate is also a rapidly growing segment, driven by its associated health benefits.
As with most food products today, consumers and industry professionals are increasingly concerned about how chocolate is produced, the working conditions of the people involved in its production, and its environmental impact. This has led to a growing focus on fairness and sustainability, with production becoming more and more oriented toward these values.
