Berlin Cocktail Week 2026: Berlin Celebrates the Golden Twenties
More than 30 Berlin bars are bringing cocktail lovers back to the Roaring Twenties, with drinks that tell real Prohibition-era stories, all at a uniform price of 9 euros.

A knock at an unmarked door, dim lighting, the smell of cigar smoke, and jazz drifting up from a hidden basement bar: this is the image that comes to mind when thinking of the 1920s. It was the age of speakeasies, those secret bars where America kept celebrating in secret despite the ban on alcohol. While not a single legal drop of alcohol could flow in the United States between 1920 and 1933, Berlin was blossoming into one of Europe's wildest and most uninhibited bar cultures: jazz, cabaret, glamorous bars, and an unstoppable spirit of invention defined the Golden Twenties and made the city, exactly 100 years ago, one of the most exciting destinations on the continent.
This double story, American Prohibition on one side, Berlin's exuberance on the other, is what Berlin Cocktail Week 2026 brings back to the bars of the capital. More than 30 of Berlin's best cocktail bars have drawn on this tension for this year's "Golden Twenties" edition: many of the new creations carry the names and stories of real classics from that era, from the "Blind Pig," as hidden bars were known in the United States at the time, to the "Clover Club," once a favorite among the emancipated women of the era, to the legendary "Corpse Reviver," the hangover cure that helped revelers bounce back the morning after a long night out.
From September 4 to 13, 2026, cocktail lovers can try these drinks in more than 30 of the city's best bars, two per bar, all at the uniform price of 9 euros. The first edition in 2025 was already a resounding success: the 25 participating bars sold more than 2,000 cocktails between them and welcomed many new guests.
Speakeasy Spirit in the Heart of Schöneberg
Just how present that speakeasy spirit is this year is shown, for example, by Salut! Classic Bar on Goltzstraße. For Berlin Cocktail Week 2026, it is pouring the BABYLON FIZZ, made with Żubrówka Biała, quince liqueur, grapefruit bitters and fresh mint, alongside the GLANZ & GLORIA, made with Vermouth Rosso Cucielo, a mint-lime cordial, sparkling wine and real gold leaf. Two of the more than 60 cocktails with which participating bars are reinterpreting the Golden Twenties this year.
These Drinks Tell the Story of Prohibition
Bars across the city have dug deep into the history of the alcohol ban this year, pairing their creations with real anecdotes from the era:
- BLIND PIG (Voulez Vous Bar, Prenzlauer Berg): Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Tia Maria Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, sugar syrup, Angostura Bitters. The name comes from the classic American term for a hidden bar during Prohibition. The drink promises the thrill of slipping through a secret door into a speakeasy.
- GATSBY'S REVIVAL NO. 3 (Bar Basalt, Wedding): Martin Miller's Original Gin, Lillet Blanc, Italicus, acid-adjusted grape juice, tonic bitters, absinthe. A playful nod to the "Corpse Reviver," the real hangover cure of that era.
- BOURBON BEE'S KNEES (Suspiria, Kreuzberg): Buffalo Trace Bourbon, homemade honey liqueur, lemon and orange juice, chamomile and chocolate bitters. A true classic from the era of the alcohol ban: bartenders once added honey and lemon to rough bootleg gin just to make it drinkable.
- CLOVER CLUB (Eingang Zwei, Kreuzberg): Martin Miller's Original Gin, raspberry, vermouth, lemon. Also a genuine Prohibition classic, once the favorite of the most fashionable women of the time.
- AMÉLIE & HARRY'S 75 (Bar Amélie, Mitte): Martin Miller's Original Gin, lemon juice, blackberry syrup, sparkling wine, maraschino cherry. A nod to Harry's New York Bar in Paris, the legendary refuge for thirsty Americans in the 1920s.
- PEAR PRESSURE (100 Gramm Bar, Mitte): Martin Miller's Original Gin, roasted-peach cordial, sparkling wine, gold leaf. A wink at the double standards of the era, when a bit of gold leaf and sparkle was simply part of keeping up appearances.

High Quality Meets Creativity
Inspired by the premium spirits Angostura 5yo Rum, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Vermouth Rosso Cucielo, Martin Miller's Original Gin, Tia Maria Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur and Żubrówka Biała, Berlin's most talented bartenders have each created two exclusive drinks, ranging from Golden-Twenties-inspired classics to entirely new creations.
To give visitors a better overview of the participating bars, a map was designed in the style of Berlin's U-Bahn network, available both online and as a flyer in participating bars. A Google Map with all the locations is also available.

The Spirits at a Glance
Angostura 5yo Rum: A soft, full-bodied rum from Trinidad and Tobago with notes of caramel, vanilla, warm spices and delicate fruit aromas.
Buffalo Trace Bourbon: A well-balanced Kentucky bourbon with notes of brown sugar, vanilla, mint and molasses, plus a long, dry, oak-tinged finish.
Vermouth Rosso Cucielo: A vermouth from Turin with notes of caramelized orange, rhubarb and warm spices. Pleasantly bitter, complex and with a long, dry finish.
Martin Miller's Original Gin: A particularly soft, well-balanced gin that combines traditional English distillation with Icelandic spring water.
Tia Maria Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur: A velvety coffee liqueur made from 100% Arabica cold brew, with notes of roasted coffee, dark cocoa and vanilla.
Żubrówka Biała: A clear Polish vodka made from fine grain and pure spring water. Distilled seven times, filtered four times, and remarkably smooth.
