Italian Fusion Nights: From February 18th to March 3rd, Italian cuisine meets global flavors in fine dining.

Italian cuisine is undoubtedly one of the most traditional in the world. But what happens when this proud nation looks beyond its borders?

Fascinating, creative combinations emerge!

The classic Bolognese ragù meets a crispy spring roll, gnocchi swim in a miso beetroot sauce with black truffle, and the mascarpone cream is refined with tapioca and mandarin... Over 20 Italian restaurants from Berlin have gone above and beyond, daring to create the most creative fusions with international cuisine. From February 18th to March 3rd, Berliners will have the unique opportunity to try these special menus created exclusively for the Italian Fusion Nights. For 39 euros, guests will be served a starter, a main course, and a dessert, with a classic Campari Spritz as an aperitif beforehand. For a small additional charge, depending on the restaurant, a wine pairing tailored to the meal is available. Each menu concept is based on the fusion of Italian cuisine with another culinary tradition, blending into a unique fine dining creation. The list of participating restaurants can be found further below.

This Afro-Italian appetizer is available only in Berlin: The Afroncino is a breaded ball made of Jollof rice and cheese, served on a colorful cabbage salad with peanut sauce and peanut Rayu (One more Chapter, Sonntagstr. 26, Friedrichshain).

Berlin is already home to several Italian-international fusion restaurants: Why Not?, for example, which combines Filipino and Neapolitan cuisine, or Mix-It, which blends Italian and Thai influences. Many of these concepts stem from personal stories, where people from different countries meet in Berlin and connect their culinary traditions. This fusion brings together not only two cultures, but also two kitchens – and it works. Alongside these concepts, which reflect Berlin's international diversity, many Italian restaurateurs, who are always striving for innovation and embracing new challenges, have joined the Italian Fusion Nights.

Why not? Lumpia alla Bolognese: Crispy spring roll with Bolognese ragù, served with Parmesan fondue (Why Not? Leonhardtstraße 13, Charlottenburg).

Fusion kitchen in Fine Dining

Fine dining has evolved significantly in recent years, increasingly embracing innovation and diversity through the integration of fusion cuisine. This culinary movement blends traditional ingredients and techniques from various cultures to create new, exciting taste experiences. While fusion was initially seen as a trendy novelty, it has now become a staple in global gastronomy. Chefs combine creative techniques and extraordinary ingredients from around the world, resulting in surprisingly harmonious flavor combinations. Fusion cuisine not only challenges the taste buds but also reflects the cultural exchange that is becoming increasingly important in modern society.

Partners of the Italian Fusion Nights

We all know it: the iconic red and passionate drink from Milan – Campari. We’re excited to announce that during the Italian Fusion Nights, it will be served as a classic Campari Spritz, either as an aperitivo or to accompany the dinner. For those who prefer a non-alcoholic option, we’ll be offering a Crodino Spritz. The orange counterpart to Campari, Crodino is equally delicious, with a lightly aromatic and bitter taste.

The media partners of the event are Tip Berlin, the Berlin city magazine that presents current events and hidden gems, and  Berlino Magazine, the most-read online magazine for Italians in Germany.
