Italian Street Food Festival 2025: the largest Italian street food festival in Germany returns to Berlin the weekend of June 14th-15th

Once a year, for one vibrant weekend, Berlin takes on the flavors and rhythms of Italy. The scent of freshly baked pizza in the air, laughter shared over a gooey supplì, and sunset toasts with a spritz in hand. That’s the Italian Street Food Festival, not just an event, but a celebration of authentic Italy that has been going on for seven years. Year after year, it’s become a beloved tradition for Berliners, Italians living abroad and food lovers from all walks of life.

This year, the Festival will take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June from 11 AM to 10 PM at Osthafen (Alt Stralau 1-2, 10245 Berlin). Arrosticini, parmigiana, caponata, pizza and pinsa, supplì, octopus burgers, sausage and friarielli sandwiches, focaccia, panzerotti, arancini, porchetta, pucce, cannoli siciliani, tiramisù and icecream are just some of the specialties waiting to be tasted.

In 2024, 22 Italian street food stands participated, and over 8,500 guests attended, making the event the largest Italian street food festival in Germany. Admission is €5 (free for children and teenagers under 16), and tickets can already be purchased at this link.

In addition to culinary highlights, the festival features an entertainment program with live music, DJ sets, karaoke, and activities for children.

Italian Street Food Festival 2025: Culinary Highlights

More than just a food event, it’s a cultural journey across Italy: from North to South, each dish tells a story, represents a family tradition, and carries the soul of its region. In one place, you can discover the diverse flavors of Italian regional cuisine, often impossible to find all together. From Sicily with caponata, arancini and cannoli, moving to Apulia with pucce and panzerotti, then Naples with pizza, Rome with pinsa and porchetta, Abruzzo with arrosticini up to Lombard braised beef cheek.

The festival already counts 20 confirmed participants, including food stands and trucks, featuring some of Berlin’s most renowned ambassadors of Italian street food such as Kuchen von Gaia, Focacceria San Francesco, Mercurio and Sanpietrino. Among the new entries are Bruchetta Franktion with their creative bruschetta, as well as Merlì’s eggplant caponata and beef cheek croquettes. Scroll down to discover them all!

Not just street food: music and entertainment

The event will come alive with entertainment for all ages throughout the day: kids can enjoy face painting, there’ll be a calcio balilla, Italian karaoke in the afternoon, live performances by Narova & the Asatt Band and Indaco followed by the DJ set of Duma the Collective to keep the party going.

Organizers and Partners

The Italian Street Food Festival has been organized annually since 2018 by Berlin Italian Communication as part of the True Italian, project, which aims to preserve and support authentic Italian cuisine through a series of initiatives. The network currently includes over 300 Italian restaurants, pizzerias, and wine bars in Germany, whose products, ingredients, dishes, and philosophy reflect true Italian culinary culture. Most of these are located in Berlin, where the network was founded in 2015.

A Summer Full of Italian Festivals

The Italian Street Food Festival kicks off the True Italian 2025 festival season in Berlin. Scheduled for July is the fourth edition of the True Italian Pizza Street Festival, an event dedicated to pizza in its various forms, which will be held on July 12th-13th and will involve some of the best pizzerias in Berlin. Following this, on August 23rd-24th, the Pistachio Street Food Festival returns to Berlin, dedicated to pistachio in all its forms and open to international exhibitors. Both events will be held at Jules B-Part in Gleisdreieck Park.
