True Italian Turns 10 and Announces Its Events for 2025
A Year Full of Exceptional Italian Food
2025 promises to be a year dedicated to great food, thanks to the events organized by True Italian. From March to December, each month will spotlight a different star of Italian cuisine and beyond. From the classic True Italian Pizza Week and Pasta Week to gelato and aperitivo, all the way to the international Berlin Chocolate Festival and Pistachio Street Food Festival – there’s truly something for everyone! The itinerary events will be the perfect opportunity to discover hidden culinary gems in the city, while the festivals will offer selected street food specialties and fascinating insights into Italian cuisine.
Our events, which in 2024 featured over 200 participating venues and attracted thousands of visitors, will be even bigger in 2025, involving more restaurants and exhibitors. But that’s not all: Gelato Week Germany will expand to cover more areas of Germany, and the True Italian Pizza Week will return to Hamburg. Additionally, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the True Italian brand, we will host a great party in September, open to everyone, with music and the best selection of Italian street food. The history of True Italian
True Italian was founded in the summer of 2015 with the registration of the True Italian Food trademark. The goal? To create a brand that would promote and shine the lights on authentic Italian restaurants in Berlin. Thanks to our experience with Berlino Magazine, we were already connected with many restaurateurs and understood the need for the authentic Italian businesses to stand out and network in such a dynamic city.
The idea to organize events came a few months later: to truly promote Italian restaurants, it was necessary to create opportunities for people to experience them firsthand. Thus, in 2016, the first edition of the 72hrs True Italian Food event was launched. The immediate success, both with the public and the media, confirmed that Berlin was the perfect place for such initiatives.
In the following years, we introduced new events such as the True Italian Pizza Week and Pasta Week, gradually expanding our team (find out more about us here) and supporting the growth of the Italian food scene in Berlin. Today, we organize nine annual events, each with its own unique identity.
Our Mission
Every day, we strive to promote the culture of great Italian food, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, balancing respect for traditional recipes with a desire for creativity and innovation. We work closely with Italian culinary businesses in Berlin and other German cities to help them gain visibility and highlight the quality of their products.
The events we organize are the culmination of our efforts: we invite people to experience authentic Italian hospitality and discover regional recipes that are often less well-known. By offering special prices for a limited time, we hope to build loyalty to authentic Italian cuisine – once you’re used to its quality, there’s no turning back! Through our festivals, we also aim to create moments of celebration and connection: for one weekend, you feel transported to Italy, surrounded by great food, music, and an infectious energy that captivates all lovers of Italian cuisine.
