Una Festa Italiana: The Party Celebrating 10 Years of True Italian and 15 Years of Berlino Magazine
Eleven hours of partying, two dance floors, DJ sets by Borghetta Stile, and Italian street food – all at Urban Spree
Berlin hosts a unique Italian reality that has few equivalents in other European cities: a company with about 15 employees – all Italians or Italian-Germans under 40 – working every day to promote Italian culture in Germany and support Italian expats, strengthening the ties between the two communities. This is Berlin Italian Communication, best known for its two creations: the True Italian brand, which networks and promotes authentic Italian restaurants in Germany, and the online magazine Berlino Magazine, which publishes daily content in Italian about Berlin and Germany.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of True Italian and the 15th of Berlino Magazine, we are hosting a major party on Saturday, September 6th, at the beautiful Urban Spree in the RAW Gelände. From 5 PM until 4 AM, we will dance to the iconic ’90s and 2000s beats of Borghetta Stile, the legendary Roman DJ collective coming to Berlin especially for the occasion.
Of course, great food cannot be missing: some of the best ambassadors of Italian street food in Berlin will be present, including Mercurio with his Apulian panzerotti, Focacceria San Francesco with Sicilian specialties, Prometeo with his porchetta sandwich (just like in Ariccia, but made in Berlin), Sironi with his delicious pizza al taglio, Kuchen von Gaia with amazing cannoli and tiramisù, and Peggy Bee with artisanal gelato.

The Origins of Berlino Magazine and True Italian
Berlino Magazine was born in 2010 as the personal blog of journalist Andrea D’Addio, then called Berlino Cacio e Pepe. Over time, it grew into an independent magazine with its own editorial staff and many contributors. Its Instagram account now counts over 35,000 followers, regularly publishing informative videos about expat life in Germany, Berlin events, and German news.
True Italian was founded in the summer of 2015 with the registration of the True Italian Food trademark. Thanks to the magazine, we had already connected with many Italian restaurateurs in Berlin, who expressed the need to identify themselves as authentic Italians and to build a network in such a dynamic city.
The idea of organizing events came a few months later: to truly promote Italian restaurants, it was necessary to create occasions where people could experience them firsthand. Thus, in 2016, the first edition of 72 hrs True Italian Food was born. Its immediate success, both among the public and the media, confirmed that Berlin was the ideal place for such initiatives.
In the following years, we introduced new events such as the True Italian Pizza Week and the Pasta Week, gradually expanding our team and supporting the growth of the Italian food scene in Berlin. Today, we organize nine annual events, each with its own unique identity.
The Mission of True Italian
We are committed every day to promoting the culture of authentic Italian food, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, balancing respect for traditional recipes with creativity and innovation. We work closely with Italian gastronomic businesses in Berlin and other German cities to help them gain visibility and highlight the quality of their products.
The events we organize are the culmination of this work: we invite people to experience authentic Italian hospitality and discover regional recipes often little known abroad. By offering a special price for a limited time, we aim to create lasting bonds with true Italian cuisine: once you get used to its quality, there’s no turning back! With our festivals, we also strive to create moments of celebration and togetherness: for one weekend, you feel transported to Italy, surrounded by great food, music, and an infectious energy that wins over all lovers of our cuisine.
